July 5, 2018 : Dr. Christian Knigge has requested immediate monitoring of the SU UMa-type dwarf Novae VW Hyi in order to promptly identify the next outburst. This outburst will trigger radio wavelength observations. As this object has never been detected in the radio, it is imperative that the radio observations be started as soon after outburst as possible to have the best chance of detection.
Observers are requested to monitor this object nightly over the next month to catch the next outburst immediately. V band observations are requested. Please submit your observations to the AAVSO International Database as soon after you make them as possible.
Magnitude Range: 8.4 - 14.4 V

Charts: Charts with a comparison star sequence for VW Hyi may be created using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP). The AAVSO sequence is being extended at the faint end to accommodate the faint state of the variable.
Submit observations: Please submit observations to the AAVSO International Database using the name VW HYI.
