October 28, 2013:
Koichi Itagaki (Yamagata, Japan) reports (via the TOCP page and [vsnet-alert]) his discovery of a possible nova in Aquila [V1830 Aql]:
R.A. 19h02m33.35s, Decl. +03o15'19.0" (J2000.0)
2013 Oct. 28.4571 UT, 13.8 mag (unfiltered)
Image: http://www.k-itagaki.jp/images/aql-pnv.jpg
From the TOCP page: This transient was observed on 2013 10 28.782 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17" robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. Unfiltered images show a faint source at mag. 13.5 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 33.38s 18.9" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).
Roger Pickard (PXR, Leominster, England) reports via [baavss-alert] the object at 15.77 V on 2013 Oct. 28.8375.
Also from the TOCP page: Low-resolution spectra taken 2013 October 28.794 UT by Masi, Schmeer, and Nocentini (remotely using the 14" robotic unit of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy) show H-alpha emission.
This object has been added to VSX and a sequence is being determined. Finder charts may be created using VSP. Once the sequence has been established, it will also be available via VSP.
Thanks to Patrick Schmeer (SPK, Bischmisheim, Germany) for his initial posting about this object.
Good observing!
