AAVSO Alert Notice 551 announces a new campaign on the cataclysmic variable GDS_J1701281-430612 in support of an upcoming HST/COS observing campaign. Please see the notice for details and observing instructions.
Many thanks and good observing!

Any value for visual observations, or is this primarily a CCD campaign?
Mike
Visual observations would be useful in setting a baseline and understanding how variable the source is in a relative sense at the time of our HST observation.
Hi all. I am Mark Reynolds, the PI of this HST study.
These observations will play a crucial role in allowing us to constrain the disk/stellar emission in the optical and help us to dis-entangle the various components that will contribute to the UV spectrum that HST will obtain.
If there are any questions, please feel free to ask!
Finally, many thanks to Elizabeth for setting this up.
This is an eclipsing system - lightcurve attached
Many thanks to those who have observed this target so far!
I have recieved the HST schedule and the UV spectroscopic observation will occur on 07 Oct 00:23:57 UT (approx. 20:30 EST on the 6th).
AAVSO Special Notice #422 reports on the HST schedule for GDS_J1701281-430612 and re-iterates observing and data-submitting instructions.
Good observing!
