Hello,
I have tried to upload some PEP obs but keep getting an error message;
- You must specify all the parameters at the beginning of your file.
- Line Number 8: It looks like you have 1 fields which is not the correct number (should be 15). Did you use the delimiter character in your 'notes' field? Please fix this in the file before submitting.
I can't understand, because I think I have defined 15 fields and also completed 15 with comma separators. One field is empty. Thus ,,
Thanks

Hi Kevin,
I see a couple of things in your data file:
- on line 4, you need to say what the delimiter is #DELIM=,
- in the field that is empty, you need to put na
(I don't think it matters if you put NA or na).
Try fixing those things and see if your file will upload.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth
Thanks Elizabeth,
That's odd because I copied and pasted from a file that did upload. The coma must have got deleted. I'll try again.

Kevin
I uploaded my first file for Rho Cas. Thanks
Now I am trying to upload a file of obs for BQ Gem and it won't accept, returning this error message
"You must specify a name, designation, or AUID for the star"
As far as I can see, I have named correctly.
My method is to adjust my obs in Excel to correct format then save as .csv file
This worked fine for Rho Cas.
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Congratulations on successfully uploading your rho Cas data!
Looking at your BQ Gem file, I see that you need to delete the blank lines and other text at the end of the file. WebObs thinks those are data lines and so can't find a name/designation/AUID.
There can't be anything in the file after the last data line unless it is commented out (starts with a #).
Good uploading, and best regards,
Elizabeth
Thanks again Elizabeth,
A wayward bit of text hiding off-screen. I'll try to be self-sufficient.
Regards
Kevin
HI Kevin,
No problem - it's all part of the learning curve! There are a lot of little things that can prevent a file from uploading, and we gradually come across them one by one. You're doing fine with your observations.
Best,
Elizabeth
