I received the AAVSO Communications email this afternoon and followed the link on it to the "New" Journal of the AAVSO. Is this "current issue" going to be called Volume 43, Number 1? When will this JAAVSO issue be available on Createspace so I can order a printed copy?

Yes, the "Current" issue whose contents are posted on the JAAVSO homepage (http://www.aavso.org/apps/jaavso/) will be bound into Volume 43, Number 1. (FYI, there are one or two more papers to be added to the contents.)
Volume 43, Number 1 should be available on Createspace to order a printed copy around June 25 (as soon as possible after we complete the content on June 15; it takes some days for us to receive and check a proof copy). We'll announce it here in the forum when it's available.
