brownrb1 Affiliation American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO) Sun, 11/29/2020 - 07:29 Hi, I tried to submit the spectral profile of HD9612 and it was unsuccessful because the star was not recognized. I checked and it is in SIMBAD as HD9612. Dick Robin Leadbeater Affiliation British Astronomical Association, Variable Star Section (BAA-VSS) Sun, 11/29/2020 - 13:36 not recognised in AAVSO database Hi Dick, I suspect because it is not in the AAVSO VSX catalogue of variable stars. (The AAVSO database only accepts spectra of variable stars). It is variable spectroscopically though (A Be star) so you could submit it to the BeSS database of Be stars. http://basebe.obspm.fr/basebe/ or the BAA spectroscopy database which accepts well calibrated spectra of any astronomical object https://britastro.org/specdb/ Cheers Robin Log in or register to post comments
