Discovered by C. Jacques, C. Colesanti, E. Pimentel, I. Mussi, J. Ribeiro, M. Domingues, J. Amancio, L. Amaral, P. Holvorcem, T. Napoleao on behalf of the Brazilian Transient Search – BraTS – at SONEAR Observatory, Oliveira, Brazil in three frames with 10 seconds exposure using an astrograph 280mm f/2.2 + CCD unfiltered, with magnitude 15.8 under limiting mag = 17.0. Nothing is visible at this location on the previous frame (limiting mag = 17.1) taken on 2020 Mar 03.0224 UT.

The current brightening began on 2020 March 7, according to ASAS-SN Sky Patrol (Shappee et al. 2014ApJ...788...48S and Kochanek et al. 2017PASP..129j4502K) data; complete light curve ("contaminated" by the mag. 14 star USNO-A2.0 0675-07644021, which is 17" to the SSE) at https://asas-sn.osu.edu/light_curves/8ac49e9d-033c-4f7a-98c2-315eb30a3c… – The (blue) Pan-STARRS1 source PSO J075528.000-170652.316 (gmag. 21.49) with position end figures 28.00s in RA and 52.3" in DE is 1.2" SSW of the reported position of the transient.
