On last night's astro-ph preprint server was an interesting paper by Sarkisyan et al. showing spectra of some luminous stars in M31 (and one Galactic star):

What I found most useful was their very clear description of the different flavors of extremely lumious hot stars, which appears in the introduction. This will be of interest to those following the lumious stars in M31 and M33 as well as in the Magellanic Clouds.
