Addressed mainly to those who are engaged in making charts for YSOs, this is a reminder that most of the stars in some spring-summer constellations will need accurate sequences. At the moment, we have charts from UCAC-3 with visual mags to 0.1m. Since all these stars are in the South (Sco, Oph...) you should be able to use accurate mags derived from ASAS. I know Sco and Oph aren't quite with us yet, but there are an awful lot of YSOs in Scorpius! I'll start on some of these myself, but it's a worthwhile project for us poor old Europeans who are snowed/frozen out!
Hi, Michael. The sequence team reports that they are going through the YSO charts at a pretty good clip. As fast as APASS data is available. I think they prefer to use that over ASAS.
Yes, the original
Hi Aaron,
Yes, the original mags on 'my' charts were from other catalogues like UCAC (transformed to visual) and the chart team is using these mags as placeholders for future values. We do appear to be getting through them at a fair rate of knots - evidenced by the growing number of YSO obs being made.
