The AAVSO is pleased to announce the availability of our new DSLR Observing Manual. This manual is available free to everyone. It was made possible through support of the National Science Foundation, the AAVSO staff and a team of exceptional volunteers who wrote most of the chapters at the third Citizen Sky workshop at the AAVSO headquarters, March 22-24, 2013.
For more general information on the manual see the DSLR Observing Manual page.
In conjunction with the publication and release of this manual we are developing a CHOICE course on DSLR photometry that will run October 13 - November 7.
This course will utilize the new DSLR photometry manual as its guide. The manual is a basic introduction and guide to using a DSLR camera to make variable star observations. The target audience is first-time beginner to intermediate level DSLR observers, although advanced observers may find the content useful as well.
Registration is open for this course and there are still several seats available.
For more information on CHOICE see the CHOICE page.
