Background/Interesting Fact
I am a long-time amateur astronomer. Though most of my amateur observations have been of comets, I have recently started making visual and remote CCD observations of novae.
Professionally I am an astronomer at the Lunar and Planetary Lab at the University of Arizona. My work has focused on comets and asteroids, in particular color and lightcurve photometry of very small asteroids. Nowadays, I am primarily involved with the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission to retrieve samples of the near-Earth asteroid, (101955) 1999 RQ36.
