What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become an international movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy. With 30,000+ partners in 68 countries, including small businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and major corporations, #GivingTuesday has seen a 470% increase in online donations since its inception in 2012.
When is #GivingTuesday?
Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday falls on December 1 this year. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
How can you help the AAVSO on #GivingTuesday?

Make a donation and spread the word - Make a donation of $5, $10 or $25 and tell your friends and family why you are proud to support the AAVSO
Post to your social media - Share the #GivingTuesday url with your friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. Tell them that you've donated and encourage them to make a donation too!
